Third Thursday Artist Talk: Brother Murray Bodo

  • Sanctuary 330 E Main St. Wilmore, KY 40390 USA (map)

Brother Murray Bodo has spent a lifetime contemplating the sacred in everyday life through words—writing poetry, spiritual reflections, and beloved books on St. Francis of Assisi that have touched readers around the world. A Franciscan friar since 1955, he has authored more than twenty books and is widely celebrated for the lyrical depth and spiritual insight of his work. He also travels extensively, leading retreats, workshops, and pilgrimages rooted in the Franciscan tradition.

Discover the beauty of existence through the eyes of Fr. Murray in this most recent collection of poetry, Brother Wind and Air: A Lifetime in Verse. The themes of wind and air permeate this work, as Fr. Murray likens them to the divine breath that animates us all. No title could be more fitting, for Fr. Murray has spent a lifetime turning “momentary stays” into verse, breathing life into all who read.

During this event, Brother Murray will read from his new collection, share reflections on his poetic journey, and discuss how the themes of wind, breath, and presence weave through his life and writings. Whether you’re a lover of poetry, a seeker of spiritual depth, or simply curious about the creative life of a Franciscan artist, this conversation promises to enrich the soul and stir the imagination.

This is a free event. All are welcome.
